Terms and conditions of business with Lothian Equine Advanced Performance Therapy – The Osteopathic Approach
Once we agree to engage in a business relationship together and agree on a time and date for treatment of your horse, it will be assumed that you agree to the Terms and condition of business as stated in this document.
Bookings
A booking is confirmed once Gwen Lindsay and the client have agreed on a time, date and location for a treatment for the specified horse or horses.
Clients will get a confirmation email or message from Gwen Lindsay stating their appointment time and date for the horses that have been requested to be assessed and/or treated. This information will be sent from [email protected], Messenger or WhatsApp.
If the client has to amend the appointment, then they must do so as soon as possible.
This must be done at least 24 hours prior to the appointment or a full fee will be charged.
No additional time will be given for clients late for their appointment.
Client’s horses must be presented clean and dry and ready for Gwen Lindsay to undertake her assessment process on arrival.
If the horse is booked for a Routine Maintenance or Routine Performance treatment, with no known underlying clinical health problems, Veterinary Consent is not required however the horse MUST be registered with a Veterinary Surgeon.
The client will be asked to sign a disclaimer to state that they are registered with a Veterinary Surgeon.
If the horse is booked for a treatment and has known underlying clinical conditions, then Veterinary Consent MUST be sought from the horses usual Veterinary Practice. A treatment will not be undertaken until consent has been sought. The client will be asked to sign a Veterinary Consent Form to state this. This is required by Law.
If Gwen Lindsay has visited the horse and the assessment process highlighted areas of concern and possible underlying pathology is presenting in symptoms, these will be discussed with the client.
Gwen Lindsay has the authority to discuss these concerns with the clients usual Veternary Surgeon/Practice and other paraprofessionals such as farrier, dentist, saddler as appropriate dependant on the clinical findings.
Use of Photographs and Videos
You grant Lothian Equine Advanced Performance Therapy and its authorised representatives the irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide right to take, use, reproduce, edit and publish photos and videos that include, you, your horse(s) and any equipment, tack or branding associated with you. Activities or interactions involving your horse(s) including, events, training, riding, handling and any treatment sessions.
These materials may be used for the following purposes advertising and promotional campaigns, social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube), educational and instructional content, press and media coverage, public and international communications
All photos and videos taken by Lothian Equine Advanced Performance Therapy, including those captured personally by you or your team are owned exclusively by Lothian Equine Advanced Performance Therapy. You will not receive financial compensation for the use of these materials and waive the right to inspect or approve their final form.
While we may choose to identify horses or owners/handlers in captions or content, we are not obligated to do so. If you would like your horse or yourself to remain anonymous please notify us in writing in advance.
You may revoke your consent at any time by submitting written request to Lothian Equine Advanced Performance Therapy. Revocation will apply to future use only and will not affect materials already published or distributed.
We may share the media with third-party partners, collaborators or platforms as needed for the stated purposes. Your personal contact information will not be disclosed without your explicit permission unless required by law.
You release Lothian Equine Advanced Performance Therapy from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the lawful use of the images and recordings of you or your horse(s) , including but not limited to issues related to misinterpretation, publication or distribution.
Treatment Cost
All initial assessments and any follow up or maintenance treatments are charged at £80 per equine
Dependant on area/distance mileage may be charged.
Payment is due within 24 hours of appointment
Late payment will be subject to a £10 per week charge from the date the horse was presented for assessment. ·
Challenging rehabilitation cases and assessments that require extensive research and in-depth clinical history and liaising with the Veterinary Surgeon or Referral Hospital will incur additional fees to cover the time spent reviewing and assessing prior to initial assessment. This will be a one off fee and dealt with on a case by case basis.
Cancellations
Clients are asked to provide at least 24 hours notice when cancelling or re-scheduling appointments.
Any cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment will be charged the full treatment price unless the cancellation is made due to the horse being unwell and vets advice not to be treated.
Gwen Lindsay has the right to cancel a treatment by giving 24 hours notice where possible
Gwen Lindsay has the right to cancel a treatment without notice if the Practitioner has taken ill and is unable to carry out the required work safely.
Payments
Payment will be collected for the full assessment/treatment price, even if Gwen Lindsay feels that the treatment is contraindicated and Veterinary referral is required. This cost covers the full assessment process.
Payment must be made before or on the day of treatment – there are no credit terms.
