Horses have been in Gwen Lindsay’s life forever and she cannot remember or imagine life without them. She learned to ride on a Shetland pony and spent her childhood charging around the countryside with her sister on their long suffering ponies.
She was fortunate to be given the opportunity in her early teens to work in a racing yard and then went on to college to complete her HND in Horse Management before returning to working in racing. She has since worked in various competition yards.
Gwen has always been lucky enough to have her own horses and her journey to studying Equine Osteopathy began when her horse of a lifetime was diagnosed with career ending injuries at the age of 12, she wanted to know why and if it could have been prevented. Gwen began looking into anatomy and biomechanics and signed up and completed her Diploma in Equine Science, this was the beginning of the journey down the rabbit hole!
This lead onto studying and qualifying in Equine Sports Massage in the hope of preventing someone else’s horse going through what her boy had. While treating horses she began to see issues she was unable to fix and to question why? Feeling the questions could be answered she sought to find a suitable course that would further her knowledge and abilities.
Gwen went on to undertake a two year Post Graduate Diploma in Equine Osteopathy with the worlds leading educator, Animal Osteopathy International which has given her a thorough and in-depth knowledge of anatomy and function and the ability to fully assess and solve problems to the very root cause ensuring our equine friends remain in peak condition.
